"Art is dead, Godard can’t change that."

I feel like I should be ashamed of enjoying the films of Jean-Luc Godard, but I'm not. Point your mouse this way and you will find his Alphaville, which you too should love shamelessly.

Also: Alphaville exists.

remember those old films/shows i watched a few times at your place? what were they called again? one of them had the character erma vep, i believe, and the other one was about a superhero-ish/jamesbond-ish character. or was this all the same creation?

The Irma Vep one is called Les Vampires and the superhero one is called Judex. Les Vampires kicks Judex's ass, but they're both really good.

There was a movie made not too long ago that was about a director attempting to remake Les Vampires. It is called Irma Vep and it's an alright film.
